Amidst the cosy ambience of a restaurant at the Peninsula Hotel in Chattogram city, the SCIP research team arranged an informal meeting on 22^nd February 2023. Chattogram City’s honorable mayor, Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, was invited as the Chief guest. The Vice-Chancellor of CUET – Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, and Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Md Moinul Islam, were also present at this meeting. They settled in a big round table and dived into discussions. They had a discussion on Chattogram City’s current waste management scenario. Moreover, the SCIP team explained the project’s current progress and future work plans that can assist Chattogram City Corporation’s plan to tackle plastic pollution. Laughter mingled with serious discourse as they exchanged ideas during dinner in the restaurant’s relaxed atmosphere. The meeting ended with a photo taken of the key guests and members. Before leaving, Prof Kraft gave a souvenir to the honorable mayor on behalf of the SCIP Plastics project.
