School-based Awareness Campaign

The SCIP Plastics Project organized an enlightening awareness campaign titled ‘Embracing Alternatives: Promoting Jute Usage as a Sustainable Substitute for Plastic’ held on August 14th, 2022 at CUET School and College. The event drew notable figures including CUET’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, as chief guest. During the program, a pivotal segment was dedicated to exchanging insightful views among the participants. This engaging interaction involved a total of four participants, with two being teachers and the remaining two enthusiastic students. The exchange served as a platform to address pertinent queries and shed light on crucial aspects of plastic pollution and its mitigation. With engaging speeches by experts like Prof. Sudip Kumar Pal, discussions delved into the significance of combatting plastic pollution. Students received biodegradable jute bags, fostering sustainable habits. Prof. Zuthi announced plans for ongoing initiatives, marking the start of a concerted effort. The program concluded with a communal lunch, fostering dialogue on tackling plastic pollution head-on.
